Internet Safety Night offers tips for parents
The emerging world of online communication is amazing tool for young people to connect, learn and socialize, but it can also have its pitfalls: From cyber bullying to pornography and identity theft, children and teens have to navigate many obstacles to avoid trouble and realize the benefits the Internet has to offer.
The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows can help.
The Club’s TechSafe program is offering a workshop for parents on Tuesday, June 28 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Club’s Donald W. Reynolds Facility, located at 2680 E. 9th Street in Reno. Refreshments will be provided, and all parents of Club members are invited to attend.
Join Gideon For-mukwai, Boys & Girls Club TechSafe Coordinator, to learn basic strategies and techniques to keep kids safe online. He will also educate attendees about popular tools and online resources that are available.
