Celebration of life for Jack Reviglio to be held Friday at the Boys & Girls Club

 In Blog, Events

A celebration of life will be held at the Boys & Girls Club on Friday for Jack Reviglio. The public is invited to pay its respects to a consummate family man, who served the community tirelessly with his time and generosity, and inspired the same from the thousands of local people whose lives he touched.

Reviglio, co-founder of Western Nevada Supply, passed away at the age of 73 on April 23 surrounded by family and friends following a protracted battle with cancer. A beacon of optimism and strength, even in his last days he always shared a smile and worried most about the comfort of those around him, the way he had lived his whole life.

Friday’s event will start at approximately 4:15 p.m. following funeral services, and will take place at the Boys & Girls Club’s Donald W. Reynolds Facility, located at 2680 E. 9th Street, near the intersection of El Rancho. Parking will be available at Paradise Park (behind the drive-in theater), with shuttle service to the Club. A capacity crowd is expected.

Reviglio’s legacy is indelibly connected to the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows. He, along with a group of northern Nevada business leaders, helped found the Club in 1976 when they saw a need to provide a safe and fun place for Boys after school. Since then, the Reviglio family has tendered the Club along with boundless financial support and countless hours of service. He served as president of the Club’s board of directors from 1982-1993. And it didn’t stop there. The Revigilio family also supported the foundation and growth of Boys & Girls Clubs all the way from Lake Tahoe to Elko, Carson City and Yerington.

The biggest annual fundraiser held at the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is even stamped with his name: The Jack T. Reviglio Cioppino Feed & Auction. Every year for 31 years, Reviglio stood at the helm of this event, but more than that he helped oversee growth that has brought the Club from an idea 35 years ago, to the organization that it is today – 10,000 members strong in 20 locations throughout the region. That’s a lot of lives touched.

Reviglio’s same stamp can be found everywhere in our community.

He has supported churches, schools, non-profit groups and individual causes. Many students who attend the University of Nevada may not know the depth of his family’s charity to their school, but they have all benefitted. Some businesses are run for profit. Jack Reviglio and the Revigilio family have used the success of Western Nevada Supply to underwrite a philosophy of giving.

Join us as we celebrate the life of a man who whose impact made our world a better place.
