Contest promotes cyber-safety

Enter the Boys & Girls Club’s Poster and Viral Video Contest and help spread the message of cyber-safety.

Poster Contest

  • Originally produced posters must
  • communicate relevant themes of youth/teen cyber-safety.
  • Artwork can be created in teams of five, in the medium of your choice (watercolor, marker, crayon, etc.).
  • Please use paper provided by the Club (contact Kristin Steedman at 331-5437).
  • Submissions are due to Kristin Steedman no later than MAY 6 at 5 p.m.

Video Contest

  • Originally produced videos must communicate relevant themes of youth/teen cyber-safety.
  • Must be produced under the supervision of a teacher, school or Club staff.
  • Scripted/acted video must not exceed 3 minutes.
  • Use of storyboards is encouraged—a template will be provided.
  • Final videos must be uploaded to a publicly viewable account on a service such as YouTube, Vimeo or Viddler.
  • Please send URLs of uploaded videos to Jim Scripps at jscripps@bgctm.org with the subject line “Viral Video Contest” no later than MAY 6 at 5 p.m.

Prizes

Poster Contest

  • For sites/schools $3001st prize, $100 2nd prize, $50, 3rd prize
  • For teams $25 gift card 1st prize, $15 gift card 2nd prize, $10 gift card 3rd prize

Video Contest

  • For sites/schools $500 1st prize, $300 2nd prize, $100 3rd prize
  • For teams $25 gift card 1st prize, $15 gift card 2nd prize, $10 gift card 3rd prize

Top 3 Boys & Girls sites win an ice cream party!

Who’s eligible?

Washoe County School District students, Boys & Girls Club members and other participating organizations.
